Instructor Bio

Louisa Fahy

The Pilates Lounge studio in Rush was created in 2019 by STOTT Pilates-certified mat and reformer Pilates instructor Louisa Fahy.

Louisa’s love of Pilates began in 2002 after she encountered a series of running injuries while doing cross country and road races. She discovered Pilates on the recommendation of a physiotherapist and found that as well as helping her recover from injury, the core strength she developed through Pilates helped boost her running performance. She decided to train as a mat Pilates instructor with STOTT Pilates in Dublin in 2009, teaching fellow runners at her running club, Donore Harriers, during her training.

Later, while living and working in Washington DC, Louisa completed the STOTT reformer training in New York City in 2012 and taught group reformer classes at MINT DC Pilates studio in the centre of Washington, two blocks from the White House.

On returning to Rush in 2015, Louisa trained as a BarreConcept instructor and taught classes at Rush Community Centre and Martin’s Shop, before going on to form The Pilates Loft in December 2016, and later creating The Pilates Lounge.
